The idea for The Next Hold started during one of many climbing trip in Berdorf, Luxembourg. I have spend lots of time there during my weekends. Together with my climbing friends, we set up our tents at the Belle Vue 2000 campsite near the climbing area. Between the rocks of sandstone under the trees we prepare for the first route of the day. The first climber checks the topo for the right line, ties in, counts the quickdraws, takes off the sweater, chalks the hands, checks the belayer for the last time. First step to The Next Hold. Once he has climbed above the trees, the sun warms his back. But as soon as he is back on the ground, the desire for a sweater soon grows.
Het idee voor The Next Hold is ontstaan tijdens een klimtrip in Berdorf, Luxemburg. Menig weekend spendeer ik daar graag mijn tijd. Samen met mijn klimvrienden zetten we onze tentjes op de camping Belle Vue 2000 vlakbij het klimgebied. Tussen de rotsen van zandsteen onder de bomen maken we ons klaar voor de eerste route van de dag. De eerste klimmer checkt de topo voor de juiste lijn, bindt hij zich in, telt hij zijn setjes aan zijn gordel, trekt hij zijn trui uit, poft zijn handen, checkt voor het laatst zijn belayer. First step to The Next Hold. Eenmaal boven de bomen uitgeklommen heeft hij genoeg aan zijn T-shirt door het verwarmde zonnetje. Maar zodra hij weer op de grond staat groeit al snel het verlangen naar zijn trui.

Like every climber, I am in love with nature and especially the mountains. My designs are based on what I encounter while climbing and hiking. I think sustainability is very important and I try to implement it in my products. I strive for as little waste as possible and not to become part of today’s consumer society.
Zoals iedere klimmer ben ik verliefd op de natuur en vooral de bergen. Mijn ontwerpen zijn gebaseerd op wat ik tegenkom tijdens het klimmen en wandelen. Duurzaamheid vind ik erg belangrijk en probeer ik door te voeren in mijn producten. Ik streef naar zo min mogelijk verspilling en om geen onderdeel te worden van de consumptiemaatschappij van tegenwoordig.
